Globe CEO signs BlackNorth Initiative

November 25, 2020

Phillip Crawley, Publisher and CEO of The Globe and Mail, has signed the CEO Pledge for the BlackNorth Initiative (BNI). Over 300 CEOs from industries across Canada have signed the pledge.

Through the pledge, The Globe commits to helping end anti-Black systemic racism in Canada by creating an open, diverse and inclusive workplace without barriers to Black staff advancement, sharing plans and best practices, and increasing hiring opportunities.

“The Globe and Mail decries anti-Black racism in Canadian society through our journalism,” says Crawley. “With our pledge to the BlackNorth Initiative, we will continue to build a better work workplace for our staff. I look forward to working with, and learning from, the other corporate signatories.”
