A.I. Meets World Wins Canadian Podcast Award

March 4, 2020

Globe Content Studio’s A.I. Meets World has won Outstanding Branded Series in the 2020 Canadian Podcast Awards.

The podcast, which ran for six episodes in 2019, was produced for Microsoft. Listeners joined pop culture aficionado Becky Shrimpton and tech journalist Navneet Alang as they examined the role of AI in our lives and where the technology can take us. Episodes include deep dives into topics such as how AI is being used in health care and deployed in the fight against climate change.

“We’re thrilled to have AI Meets World recognized by the Canadian Podcast Awards,” says one of the show’s executive producers and Globe Content Studio strategist, Kiran Rana. “It was our first foray into branded podcasts at The Globe – to see it so well-received by listeners, Microsoft and industry experts proves our strategy for branded storytelling is working.”

Globe Content Studio is The Globe’s in-house content marketing operation. Beyond traditional capabilities such as editorial, native, advertorial and paid posts, Globe Content Studio offers a suite of products including video production, social media strategy, website and newsletter design, influencer campaigns, research and reporting, and audio production.

Their current podcast offerings include branded shows The Sound Of (sponsored by Lincoln), which unpacks the sounds around us and how they impact our daily lives; Money Moves (created in partnership with RBC Direct Investing and RBC Invest Ease); and the editorial podcast I’ll Go First, looking at the lives of the people behind some of Canada’s most innovative startups.
