The Globe and Mail launches the 2019 Canadian Young Lions Competitions
Jury announced for prestigious competitions

The Globe and Mail, Official Festival Representative in Canada for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, launched the 2019 Canadian Young Lions Competitions. Registration for the competitions ends February 22, 2019 at 11:59 PM ET.
To be eligible to compete*, entrants must:
be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
be a professional employed in the industry (*Specific criteria applies)
be at least the legal age of majority in their province or territory and not older than 30 years of age prior to June 21, 2019
This year’s competition categories for the Young Lions Competitions include Print, Film, Digital and Media, and Marketers.
The competition takes place March 2 to 4, 2019. Eligible entrants receive a brief and must complete the challenge for their respective categories within a 24- or 48-hour time period. Submissions are judged by a panel of industry leaders within each category, with the top three finalist teams announced at the CMDC Conference on April 24, 2019. Each Gold-winning team will travel to Cannes, France to represent Canada in the global Young Lions Competitions from June 17 to 21, 2019.
As the Competition Sponsor, The Globe and Mail awards a prize valued at approximately $7,500 CDN per Gold-winning team, which includes the cost of flights, accommodations and delegate registration.
In 2018, a total of 406 teams registered to compete (107 Digital, 32 Film, 124 Media, 105 Print, and 38 Marketers). The Print team of Edouard-Jean Coune and Mourad Bouaziz (McCann Montreal), went on to place second in the global Competition at the Festival.

The Globe and Mail has been the official Canadian representative of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity since 2005, hosting the Canadian Young Lions competitions since 2007 and the Marketers competition since 2012.
